British born Sikh woman Harpreet Chandi etched her name on the runners of history after she completed the tedious Antarctic passage in 40 days. Harpreet, also known as Preet, is the clinical training officer of the British Army and is also entrusted with the duty of organising and validating training for croakers in the Army. Preet completed the solo passage after covering over 1120 Km to the South Pole. She kept her followers streamlined with audio blogs throughout her trip.
On January 3, Preet made history after being the first woman of colour to reach the South Pole without a proper contingent. She took to Instagram to partake the story of her success “Hello everyone, checking in from day 40. I made it to the South Pole where it’s decolorizing. Feeling so numerous feelings right now. I knew nothing about the polar world three times agone and it feels so surreal to eventually be then. It was tough getting then and I want to thank everybody for their support. This passage was always about so much further than me. I want to encourage people to push their boundaries and to believe in themselves, and I want you to be suitable to do it without being labelled a revolutionary. I’ve been told no on numerous occasions and told to’ just do the normal thing’, but we produce our own normal. You’re able of anything you want. No matter where you’re from or where your launch line is, everybody starts nearly. I do not want to just break the glass ceiling, I want to smash it into a million pieces.
