Five times after the advertisement of plans to link Karnal- Yamunanagar via road line, Haryana is still staying for a nod from the road ministry. Last time in March, the proposed rail line design was set up to be “ financially unviable and not operationally justified ” by the ministry. later, the Haryana Rail structure Development Corporation Limited ”( HRIDC) transferred a fresh offer for consideration.

 Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, while presenting the budget on Thursday, said he’s hopeful to admit the road’s nod on the design soon. “ I also hope to admit the blessing of the Union ministry of railroads for the Karnal- Yamunanagar road line, and work on the design will be started incontinently, ” the CM said in the assembly.

 It was in 2019 that the chief minister first mentioned the design after the conformation of Haryana Rail structure Development Corporation Limited( HRIDC), a common adventure company of the Haryana government and the ministry of railroads.

 The CM had mentioned that the HRIDC will conduct feasibility studies for at least eight new road lines in the state, including Yamunanagar- Chandigarh and Karnal- Yamunanagar. A check was conducted and a detailed design report( DPR) was submitted to the ministry on February 28, 2020.

 The DPR detailed how the being rail route of 121 km from Karnal, Khattar’s constituency, to Yamunanagar is via Ambala Cantt, whereas, the proposed route will be 61 km connecting “ unserved ” regions like Indri, Ladwa and Radaur. also, it’ll also act as a relation to two major artificial zones in the state, HRIDC said in DPR.

 In July 2021, the state government, quoting the CM, in a release had said the Central government had approved the line, and a sum of ₹883.78 crore was also sanctioned, but the process for the identification of the land and accession did n’t start.

 In March 2022, while replying to a question in congress Union minister Vaishnaw informed that the design was “ financially unviable and not operationally justified. ”

 Rajesh Agarwal, managing director, HRIDC, said, “ Indeed if it was declared financially unviable, it was noway called off. In sanctioned dispatches latterly it was informed how the design can be bettered. Now, a fresh report is pending before the ministry for consideration. ”

 ₹,408 for roadways, railroads  

 While proposing to allocate ₹ 5408 crore for roads, roadways and railroads sectors in the budget, the CM said that the foundation gravestone of the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor Project was laid in October 2022 and the work for the construction of the precedence section from Manesar to Patli amounting to ₹175.80 crore is in progress and is likely to be completed by 2024.

 Acquisition of land under the Railroads Act has been accepted and land awards have been declared in the five sections, he said, also proposing elevated road lines in Bahadurgarh and Kaithal on lines of Rohtak and Kurukshetra.

 “ The Rohtak elevated road line design was the first of its kind in the country. later, the design for an elevated road line in Kurukshetra megacity was taken up and is likely to be completed by December 2023. It’ll exclude five- position crossings and make trip within the megacity signal free. Grounded on these gests , I propose to take up systems for elevated road lines in Bahadurgarh and Kaithal. The feasibility study and detailed design reports will be prepared for the blessing of the Union Ministry of Railroads, ” the CM’s speech read.
