The government has dropped Goods and Services Tax (GST) enlistment of more than 163,000 business substances because of non-recording of assessment forms for over a half year to control the threat of fleeting administrators who make sham firms and deceitfully profit input tax reduction (ITC) worth huge number of crores, officials said.
To deal with the danger of phony firms and round exchanging substances, GST authorities have dropped 1,63,042 enrollments in the long stretch of October and November this year because of non-documenting of GSTR-3B returns for over a half year , the account service authorities stated, mentioning namelessness.
” All these business entities, who had not filed their GSTR-3B returns for more than six months, were first issued the cancellation notices and then their registrations were cancelled as per standard operating procedure,” officials said. In Ahmedabad zone alone, 11,048 GST enlistments have been dropped. In Chennai zone, 19,586 suo motu retractions have been done as such far in regard of GST citizens who have neglected to document returns for over a half year, he said.
“Further, 28,635 enlisted elements who have not documented their GSTR-3B returns for over a half year as December 1, 2020 have been recognized and the assessment authority has suo motu started scratch-off cycle in these cases,” he added.

” The tax authority is also scanning newly registered entities that have not provided correct details at the time of registration. Out of 720 deemed registrations granted between August 21 and November 16 this year, where Aadhaar authentication was not done, 55 deemed registrations have been identified for discrepancy and the process of cancellation was initiated in these cases,” the first official said.
