Srinagar, June 5: The first batch of 145 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir left for Saudi Arabia for the Holy Pilgrimage from Srinagar Airport on Sunday. Muslim pilgrimage continued after two years because of Pandemi Covid.
Member of the Hajj Committee of India, Er Aijaz Hussain together with the Secretary of the Vijay Kumar Revenue Commission, CEO Dy HCOI Javed Ahmed and CEO JK Haj Committee marked the first batch of 145 Hajj from Haj House, Bemina in Srinagar, KNO News Agency reported.
“I met the hajis and got their feedback about the arrangements and other preparations imposed by HCOI. The hajis expressed their gratitude for the arrangements made by HCOI and the JK Committee at Haj House. They prayed for peace and prosperity in Kashmir,” AIJAZZ said. Aijaz said that for the first time, electronic visas and passport facilities have been given to Hujaaj so that they can easily download the same in their cellular applications.
On Saturday, Aijaz directed the SBI authority to install currency exchange counts in the Hajj House to facilitate pilgrims. He has also reviewed preparations in the RTPR unit where pilgrims should undergo a covid test before departure. Around 83000 pilgrims are expected to perform Hajj from India including 6000 from J&K.
