A 29-year-old Indian-American female pedestrian, which was swept away in a flash flood last week in the Zion National Park in the Utah US state, was found dead, according to a senior official from the park.
Jetal Agnihotri from Tucson, Arizona, disappeared on August 19 when the Flash flood swept several pedestrians, forcing park guard and officials to launch a rescue operation, CBS News reported on Tuesday.
His body was found on Tuesday in the Zion National Park Virgin River after a comprehensive rescue operation by Rangers, Taman Jeff Bradybaugh Superintendent said in a statement.
“Our deepest sympathy is given to friends and Jetal Agnihotri family,” the statement said.
Sion National Park is one of the most visited United States recreation areas although it is often dangerous and included in flood warnings by national weather services, the report said.
Floods can create danger to pedestrians and experienced climbers and many beginners who have flocked to the park since Pandemi supported outdoor recreational explosions.
Although there is a warning, flash floods routinely trap people in the garden slot, which is narrowed in the window in several places and hundreds of feet inside, the report said.
