Kyiv / Lviv: Strong explosion was heard in early Kyiv on Friday, and air strike sirens spread to Ukraine when the population prepared for a new Russian attack after Moscow’s main warship on the fire.
The explosion seemed to be one of the most significant in the capital of Ukraine since Russian forces resigned from the region earlier this month in preparation for battle in the south and east.
Ukraine claimed the responsibility to sink Moskva, said the seeds of the Soviet era from the Russian Black Sea Fleet were hit by one of its missiles. The ship sank on Thursday while being pulled into the port, the Russian defense ministry said.More than 500 crew on the Missile cruiser was evacuated after ammunition on the ship exploded, the ministry said, without acknowledging the attack. Ukraine said it was about warships with neptune anti-ship missiles made locally.
The loss of the ship came when the Russian Navy continued the bombing in the Ukrainian cities on the Black Sea almost 50 days after launching an invasion. Residents of Odesa and Mariupol, in the nearby Azov Sea, have prepared for new Russian attacks.Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky offended a concave warship at the video address early in the morning where he warned Russian intentions to target the East Donbas region, including Mariupol.
Zelensky gave respect to all “those who stopped the progress of the convoy of Russian military equipment that were endless … those who showed that Russian ships could go … down.”There were no direct reports of damage after the explosion reported in Kyiv, Kherson in the south, East Kharkiv City and the city of Ivano-Frankivsk in the West. Ukrainian media reported power outages in the Kyiv section.Air Raid siren went in all the Ukrainian regions just after midnight on Friday and continued to boom in the eastern area of Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia even after that elsewhere, said Media Ukraine.Reuters cannot directly verify the report.

Whatever the cause of MOSKVA losses, this episode is a setback for Russia. If the Ukrainian statement about the ship in a missile attack was true, the attack would go down in history as one of the highest profile naval attacks so far this century.The Russian Ministry of Defense said he was investigating the cause of the fire on the ship. The United States said it did not have enough information to determine whether MOSKVA was hit by a missile.
“(But) of course, this way is going on, it is a big blow to Russia,” said National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.Russian troops resigned from several northern parts of Ukraine after suffering large losses and failed to capture Kyiv. Ukraine and his Western allies said Moscow was moving a new attack in the East Donbas region.
Russia launched a partial attack to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO. But the invasion has encouraged Finland, which borders Russia, and Sweden nearby to consider joining US-led military alliances.Moscow warned NATO on Thursday that if Sweden and Finland joined, Russia would deploy nuclear weapons and hypersonic missiles in the Russian bag in the Baltic Sea, in the heart of Europe.Commenting on the Russian military setback, Director of CIA William Burns said the threat of Russia has the potential to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine cannot be taken lightly, but that agency has not seen much practical evidence that strengthens worries.
Battle For Mariupol
Moscow explained his invasion as a “special military operation” intended for Ukrainian demitaries. Kyiv and his allied said Russia had launched an unbeated war that had seen more than 4.6 million people fled abroad and killed or injured thousands.
The Russian Navy has fired roaming missiles to Ukraine and the black sea activity is very important to support land operations in the south and east, where it struggles to take full control of Mariupol.Russia said on Wednesday that more than 1,000 Ukrainian marines from one of the units that still survived at Mariupol had surrendered. Ukrainian officials did not comment.
If taken, Mariupol will be the first big city to fall to Russian forces since they invade Moscow to strengthen the land corridor between the Donbas area held separatists and the crimea region confiscated and annexed in 2014.Ukraine said tens of thousands were believed to have been killed in Mariupol, where efforts were being carried out to evacuate civilians.The Russian Ministry of Defense said at the end of Thursday that 815 people had been evacuated from the city for the past 24 hours. Ukraine said that the number was 289.
