Directed by Shivam Nair and Jayprad Desai, Mukhbir – The Story of a Spy will stream on ZEE5 from November 11, 2022. Prakash Raj, Karan Oberoi, Barkha Sengupta, Adil Hussain, Satyadeep Mishra and Harsh Chhaya are among the prominent actors in the 8-episode series. The ensemble cast also includes debutants Zain Khan Durrani and Zoya Afroz. Mukhbir reveals India’s fate at a time when the nation couldn’t afford another war, and its existence rested on one daring mission led by an Indian secret agent in Pakistan.
Talking about the series, veteran actor Prakash Raj stated to a news source, “Mukhbir celebrates the bravery and the sacrifices of the unsung heroes of India, the spies, and I am glad to be a part of such a remarkable project. These spies go unnoticed despite their silent but monumental work. Hence, Mukhbir is our tribute to their selfless efforts”.
Lead actor Zain Khan Durrani said, “I could not have asked for a better project than Mukhbir to mark my OTT debut. I have grown up in Kashmir and have seen first-hand the challenges faced by the people during riots and wars so being a part of Mukhbir was even more emotional for me. The minute I read the script, I knew that I had to take it up as the character is so inspiring. Mukhbir is the story of a brave man who defied the odds and single-handedly enabled India to evade several aggressive advances from the enemy country during the 1965 war. The story not only explores his bravery but also his vulnerabilities which makes the character so endearing and real. I hope that, the show strikes a chord with everyone connected to or belonging to our country”.

In the trailer, you can see the India-Pakistan border in 1965, before the war began. Adil plays IPS officer Ramkishore Negi’s portrayer, tells Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri that Pakistan’s acquisition of Patton tanks is bad news for India and that they have no agents in Pakistan to gather more information. Intelligence officer Bhagat (Prakash) claims to have an “asset” that can help the nation. Kamran Baksh (Zain), a part-time spy and burglar, went undercover in Pakistan. He must find out what Pakistan is doing before it’s too late for India.
Story
The central character of the eight-episode web series is an Indian secret agent who assisted India in defeating the enemy during the 1965 war. The spy helped the nation fend off several of its powerful attacks.
